DA Stuart Oils

Allen Partnership has worked with DA Stuart Oils for a number of years. The company currently uses our HR retainer service and has benefited from the application of the behavioural profiling service for team development and has a number of managers who have benefited from the SteppingStones leadership programme accredited by ILM.

D A Stuart products are loosely described as metalworking lubricants. David Jukes Financial Director DA Stuart Oil picks up the case study.

If apiece of metal needs to be rolled, shaped, cut, formed or drawn then our Stuart will make a product to enable this process to happen. The products are hi tech chemical products using mineral oils, vegetable oils, powders and chemicals.

The industries we supply include Automotive, Steel, Aluminium, Forging, Can Making and Metal component manufacturers. Products are exported from Wolverhampton to many countries in Western and Eastern Europe.

Product name ranges include Rolkleen, Drawsol, Novasol and Thermex.

DA Stuart is a global company its major subsidiary in the UK is based in Wolverhampton with sales offices/warehouses at Hereford and Dewsbury.

The benefits from undergoing the SteppingStones leadership programme were: -

  • Team Building it is the first time for some years that we have had a management / supervisory training programme and it was excellent for the managers to get together in this format.
  • D A Stuart acquired Smallman Lubricants (a similar sized company), the training programme helped in the integration of the two companies and it was useful for supervisors and managers to get together away from the daily workplace.
  • On an individual level it was good for each person to be able to stand back from the daily activities and take time and advice to refocus and reassess what their objectives are.
  • Communications between the managers have been improved and are more relaxed.
  • Overall the programme has improved the company and the individual.
